VoiceAlerts is an application for the android mobile platform, its goal is to alert the user with speech messages when the following events occur:
Incoming/Missed Calls: Alerts the user when receives a call, speaking the name of the contact. Configure repeat mode for missed calls alert. Configure it to not speak while your are calling.
Time changes: it can be configured to "speak" the current time in 15,30 and 60 minutes intervals. For instance: "it is 20 hours 15 minutes" . 12H format configurable.
Sms received: A voice alert informs the user that a new sms is received, it can be configured to read the content as well. And to translate the most common sms abbreviations (in the 5 supported languages) while reading the content for instance: c u l8r -> see you later.
Battery alerts: The user can specify a battery level (for instance 5%), below that level the app alerts the user with a voice message about the current battery status. Also, when the battery is completely loaded or to alert of the progress when its being loaded. Fully configurable.
Memory alerts: A voice alert informs the user when the memory level is too low. When the battery has been completely loaded...
Message on Boot: You android welcomes you with a customized message.
Application Installed/uninstalled: It will be informed when an application package is being installed or removed.
Network availability: Your android informs you when the connection to the network is interrumpted ( in an elevator or tunnel) and re-established.
Wifi connections: Informs you when your phone connects to a wifi network or an open one is found.
TWIDROID integration, now your android phone will tell you the twitter messages the user you are following post and the replies or direct messages you received. You need to have Twidroid (both free and full version supported) installed on your phone.
GMAIL integration: Voice Alerts reads the unread emails you receive on your gmail account. Extremely configurable, choose to read the attachments, the date, limit the number of characters being read per email.
Your Android speaks to you when something happens. Calls, Sms, Battery low.

Night Mode: You can specify a time-range for Voice Alerts to be deactivated, this is particular usefull at night, so Voice Alerts does not wake you up.
Shake to Stop: To stop an alert you can configure Voice Alerts to stop speaking if you shake your phone.
Lots of configuration Possibilities: Yo can configure Voice Alerts to be de/activated when your smartphone is dis/connected to a Bluetooth Headset, this is particular usefull when you use Voice Alerts with the Bt device of your car.
If you use Voice Alerts with a A2DP Bluetooth device, the alerts will only be spoken through your BT Device, this is perfect while being on a motorbike or to prevent your Alerts to be spoken out loud when other people are around you.
Also, if you configure it, Voice Alerts will be deactivated if you unplug your headphones.

install and configure Kivy and Eclipse Luna

Today I would like to post about Kivy, which is a great Framewok based on python to develop apps with rich UI. I think this is a cool library, I am not using it for business purposes, I am teaching python this semester so its really cool to focus on it.

So, first to install kivy on Ubuntu, open a terminal and type these commands:

1. sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kivy-team/kivy
2. sudo apt-get update
3. sudo apt-get install python-kivy kivy-examples

after this, you may check the examples at /usr/share/kivy-examples

Next step is to install eclipse luna which is the latest version of this project, just go to:
https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ and choose the version you like more, in my case I chose "for Java EE DEvelopers" one, wait until its downloaded

once it finished, just unpack the tar.gz file, and execute the file called "eclipse" and thats it, now you have Eclipse Luna installed.

last steps are:
from eclipse main menu, go to "help" menu and choose "install new software", in the new window, in the"work with..." section type:

Pydev is another important IDE for Python, the integration with eclipse is really great.

Automate DiscCleanup

This method describes how to run the Disk Cleanup tool (Cleanmgr.exe) by using command-line switches. Cleanmgr.exe is designed to clear unnecessary files from your computers hard disk. You can configure Cleanmgr.exe with command-line switches to clean up the files you want.

1.start >run>cleanmgr /sageset:n
2.set options you want.
3.run these settings at any time no need to configure again using
cleanmgr /sagerun:n

note:where n is a number which can be from 0 to 65535.

You can then schedule the task to run at a specific time by using the Scheduled Tasks tool.

To start the Disk Cleanup tool, either run the Cleanmgr.exe command, or click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup.

Disk Cleanup supports the following command-line options:

� "/d driveletter": - This option specifies the drive that you want Disk Cleanup to clean.

Note: The /d option is not utilized with /sagerun: n.

� "/sageset: n" - This option displays the Disk Cleanup Settings dialog box and also creates a registry key to store the settings that you select. The n value, which is stored in the registry, allows you to specify tasks for Disk Cleanup to run. The n value can be any integer value from 0 to 65535. To have all of the options available when you use the /sageset option, you might need to specify the drive where Windows is installed.

� /sagerun: n - This option runs the specified tasks that are assigned to the n value if you use the sageset option. All drives on the computer are enumerated and the selected profile runs against each drive.

For example, in Scheduled Tasks, you could run the following command after you run the cleanmgr /sageset:11

The options for the files that you can specify for Disk Cleanup by using /sageset and /sagerun include:
� Temporary Setup Files - These are files that were created by a Setup program that is no longer running.

� Downloaded Program Files - Downloaded program files are ActiveX controls and Java programs that are downloaded automatically from the Internet when you view certain pages. These files are temporarily stored in the Downloaded Program Files folder on the hard disk. This option includes a View Files button so that you can see the files before Disk Cleanup removes them. The button opens the C:WinntDownloaded Program Files folder.

� Temporary Internet Files - The Temporary Internet Files folder contains Web pages that are stored on your hard disk for quick viewing. Disk Cleanup removes these page but leaves your personalized settings for Web pages intact. This option also includes a View Files button, which opens the C:Documents and SettingsUsernameLocal SettingsTemporary Internet FilesContent.IE5 folder.

� Old Chkdsk Files - When Chkdsk checks a disk for errors, Chkdsk might save lost file fragments as files in the root folder on the disk. These files are unnecessary.

� Recycle Bin - The Recycle Bin contains files that you have deleted from the computer. These files are not permanently removed until you empty the Recycle Bin. This option includes a View Files button that opens the Recycle Bin.

� Temporary Files - Programs sometimes store temporary information in a Temp folder. Before a program quits, the program usually deletes this information. You can safely delete temporary files that have not been modified within the last week.

� Temporary Offline Files - Temporary offline files are local copies of recently used network files. These files are automatically cached so that you can use them after you disconnect from the network. A View Files button opens the Offline Files folder.

� Offline Files - Offline files are local copies of network files that you specifically want to have available offline so that you can use them after you disconnect from the network. A View Files button opens the Offline Files folder.

� Compress Old Files - Windows can compress files that you have not used recently. Compressing files saves disk space, but you can still use the files. No files are deleted. Because files are compressed at different rates, the displayed amount of disk space that you will gain is approximate. An Options button permits you to specify the number of days to wait before Disk Cleanup compresses an unused file.

� Catalog Files for the Content Indexer - The Indexing service speeds up and improves file searches by maintaining an index of the files that are on the disk. These Catalog files remain from a previous indexing operation and can be deleted safely.

Well, isnt that interesting.  Google just released a DNS service.

Ive been an OpenDNS user for a while now, but this is interesting, so I decided to try it.  Its not really configurable like OpenDNS is, but for the average user that doesnt matter.  But will the average user realize the benefits of such a service?  Will the average user even care?  Not likely.  Thats what Google needs to work on if they want to make Google Public DNS catch on.

Theres also, you know, all that extra data going through Google.  I know some people that wouldnt like that idea.

Welcome once again to another week at Sam and Dan Games. Lets get it started!

Game Rebalance
Its about that time again to rebalance the game. The problem that happens is that many of you are higher level so I tend to make the latest levels be a lot harder than they should be at that stage of the game. The problem is that as I add even more content new players can get stuck since the difficulty curve might be too high. What I do to rebalance is start a new game and try to play all the levels. The moment where I feel like I need to start grinding to move on then that level needs to be made easier. Either make the enemy be lower level, or have less health. Ideally in the final game you would never need to grind to beat the story mode.

Im also retroactively adding TMs for the Gym leaders that you might have beaten.

Legendary Transfers
Last blog I asked in the comments what you wanted to see for this update. Some of you wanted to see the Legendary Beast from PTD1 to be transferred over. So this week we will see Raikou, Entei, Suicune and Victini be added to the transfer list!

New Moves
I wont be able to reach Soft Level cap 37 this week but I will add some of the moves from it, plus a few extra fun moves. Are there any specific moves that you want to be added next week? Let me know in the comments below.

Ilex Forest
The next map will be Ilex Forest. There wont be any new pokemon in it but there will be some pokemon in the wild that we hadnt seen before so that means new behaviours for them. You can expect to battle a pesky Farfetchd and gain access to HM Cut.

Mystery Gift
Like most weeks, there will be a mystery gift this week. It looks like Ice is winning right now. It is interesting because if Ice wins, there arent many pure or primary ice type pokemon left. There might not be a choice to vote for.

Cosmoid Update
Some interesting things are happening in the Cosmoids world, I hope to have something new to show you guys in the coming weeks, but for now there is nothing new to announce.

How I hacked Github again

This is a story about 5 Low-Severity bugs I pulled together to create a simple but high severity exploit, giving me access to private repositories on Github.

These vulnerabilities were reported privately and fixed in timely fashion. Here is the "timeline" of my emails.

A few days ago Github launched a Bounty program which was a good motivator for me to play with Github OAuth.

Bug 1. Bypass of redirect_uri validation with /../ 

Bug 2. Lack of redirect_uri validation on get-token endpoint

The first bug alone isnt worth much. Theres protection in OAuth2 from "leaky" redirect_uris, every code has corresponding redirect_uri it was issued for. To get an access token you must supply exact redirect_uri you used in the authorization flow.

Too bad. I decided to find out whether the protection was implemented properly.

It was flawed: no matter what redirect_uri the Client sent to get a token, the Provider responded with valid access_token.
Without the first bug, the second would be worth nothing as well. But together they turn into a powerful vulnerability � the attacker could hijack the authorization code issued for a "leaky" redirect_uri, then apply the leaked code on real Clients callback to log in Victims account. Btw it was the same bug I found in VK.com.

Its a serious issue and can be used to compromise "Login with Github" functionality on all websites relying on it. I opened Applications page to see what websites I should check. This section got my attention:



Gist, Education, Pages and Speakerdeck are official pre-approved OAuth clients. I couldnt find client_id of Pages/Education, Speakerdeck was out of Bounty scope (I found account hijacking there and was offered $100). Lets find a Referer-leaking page on Gist then.

Bug 3. Injecting cross domain image in a gist.

Bug 4. Gist reveals github_token in cookies

I was wondering how Gist persists the user session and decoded _gist_session cookie (which is regular Rails Base64 encoded cookie):
Oh my, another OAuth anti-pattern! Clients should never reveal actual access_token to the user agent. Now we can use this github_token to perform API calls on behalf of the victims account, without the Gist website. I tried to access private repos:
Damn it, the tokens scope is just "gists", apparently...

Bug 5. Auto approval of scope for Gist client.

Final touch of my exploit. Since Gist is a pre-approved Client, I assumed Github approves any scope the Gist Client asks for automatically. And I was right.

All we need now is to load the crafted URL into the victims browser:

random password commands in Linux

This is an alternative to generate random password, in general you may use this whether:

1. you use the same password for all your accounts (thats not a good idea)
2. you are a programmer and in you need a random password generator for sign-up process

in those cases, you may use this commands:

1. makepasswd, it uses /dev/urandom to generate them, here the first steps to use it:

  -sudo apt-get install makepasswd
  -makepasswd --chars 16  -> generate password with a length of 16 characters, you may change it.
   -makepasswrd --chars 16 --count 5 -> it will generate a list of five different passwords


2. pwgen: generate readable passwords ( use your imagination, many of them seems unreadable for me)

  -sudo apt-get install pwgen
  -pwgen 16 2  -> it will generate 2 passwords with 16 chars of length.

How to block IP from accessing your PC

Today, there are many malicious programs which infect your PC, and then allow the attacker to see private and important data from your computer. The best way to protect from the attacks is by using an anti-virus program.
But, sometimes even the antivirus makes mistakes. For example, Avast (which is my personal worst AV, although its free) didnt pick up a direct connection from USA botnet to my friends PC, which was installed from a Google Chrome extension.
How did I stop that connection? Here are the steps:

1. Start "Command Prompt" (Win+R -> type "cmd" without the quotes)

• 
  
2. Type "netstat -a" (without the quotes)

• If you like the IPs exported to a file, type "netstat -a -> file.txt". A "file.txt" file will be created in the directory you are in.

• 
  
3. If you notice some suspicious IPs there, you can Google them, and if they lead to nowhere, or they lead to some site that you do not recognize, its best to add them to the "hosts" file (next step).
4. Open Windows Explorer, and go to "C:WindowsSystem32driversetc". You will find a "hosts" file without any extension.
5. Double-click the file, and open it with Notepad.
6. Below the lines which have "#" add "127.0.0.1" followed by space, and then the IP you want to block. 

7. Save the file, restart the PC, and all the IPs(and addresses) you added will be blocked next time your PC starts.

Now drag and drop in your GMail Labels

Today GMail has introduced some new features in Labels.The most important being you can now drag messages into labels just like you do with folder in Microsoft outlook .It does exactly the same thing as "Move to" ,meaning it labels and archives in one step.You can do the vice versa also meaning labels can be dragged onto messages.At the same time it has ended Right-side Labels which was an experimental Gmail Labs feature.
Other changes include New location for Labels which means labels are now placed above the chat list ,grouped together with inbox ,Drafts ,Chats and other system labels.You can now also have control over the visibility of your label .You can hide or show labels based on our requirement if you feel you have more labels and some of the labels are used rarely .

Welcome! Last week there was no update, I got really busy with College Final Exams and taking some Engagement photos. So this week Im getting back on track!

Instead of packing this week up with more things to do I will keep it simple so I can finish everything in the list. We already have the Mystery Gift set up which is Shiny Chimchar! Somebody ask if this was a good idea since I regretted having the Shiny Charmander gift. The difference here is that a lot of people payed to get Shiny Charmander before it was a gift so it was a mistake to add it after people had bought it. Chimchar is not available to purchase so its not a problem adding him to players that are playing now.

Creature Universe
Ive had some moments to think about Creature Universe. Whenever I think of a new project, for example PTD2, I think what changes in gameplay I can bring to the new game to make it more interesting or different. That is the stage that we are in with Creature Universe. Im putting together some prototypes with different gameplay ideas and then playing with them, sending them to Dan and then we talk about what works and what doesnt work. The graphics in the prototype are extremely basic so we can focus on the gameplay and not the look. So making changes comes really easy. What you end up learning is that a lot of ideas sound great on paper but dont work as good when you actually play with it in the game. You also dont want to lose what made the game great just to put in new ideas. It is a tricky balance that all game developers must learn.

How to Active Airtel Internet for Bangladeshi Customer

When you put your Airtel SIM in your mobile for the first time, you automatically receive the settings for GPRS/EDGE services over SMS (one for MMS, one for internet and one for WAP). By simply saving these SMS, you will be ready to enjoy our Mobile Internet services.
If you have accidentally missed to save these settings, you can request for them again using your Airtel Menu, Go to �My Stuff� menu and click on:
Multimedia Settings> Reset Settings
You will receive the GPRS/EDGE settings again over SMS
Manual Settings
If your handset does not get the automatic settings for some reasons (e.g. less known model, very recently released handsets etc.) or you want to manually put down the settings information, you need to manually configure GPRS & MMS Settings.
Go to the Multimedia Media Message & Connections settings and input following information.
You will receive the GPRS/EDGE settings again over SMS

Back to the Story! Goldenrods conclusion!
We got the new server up and running! Hopefully things are running smoothly for all of you. This is a nice step in the right direction but it is not perfect yet. It took roughly two weeks to move everything over and transfer all the data. I had to do it alone so my apologies for the long delay between significant updates. At the very least I wanted to make sure you guys got Mystery Gifts and giveaways.

On a side note the Funding reached 20% wooo! Pretty soon Ill be adding more prizes but for now I will focus on PTD2 since we had 2 weeks of no new content.

So like the title of the blog says we will be concluding Goldenrod City this update. You will finish off Team Rocket and open of the poke mart which will have a large amount of new items to buy. It will also open up the other places even though some of them you wont be able to enter due to the destruction Team Rocket caused.

Percentage Damage Moves Change
There will be a change in how damage in moves like Fire Spin, Leech Seed, and statuses like Burn and Poison works. Instead of being based on a certain attack power they will be based on a percentage of health of the tower doing the attack. The reason its based on the tower doing the attack instead of the target like the game is that if its based on the target it will either do too much damage (like on bosses) or too little damage (when battling low level enemies). As an example Leech Seed will now do 1/8 of your total health as damage to the enemy instead of what it does currently. This should make these moves and statuses stronger than they are now.

4. setelah di paste ganti kata type your password here dengan password sesuka anda, untuk membuka folder pada nantinya tapi jangan sampai lupa password anda. setelah selesai simpan dengan nama sesuka anda saya menyimpannya dengan nama "lock.bat" yang penting ekstensinya ***.bat

5. Double klik pada lock.bat yang sudah anda buat tadi dan beberapa detik kemudian akan muncul sebuah folder yang bernama Locker .

6. Simpanlah file-file anda yang ingin anda kunci di dalam folder yang bernama locker tersebut. Di dalam folder tersebut bisa kita letakkan file apa saja yang kita inginkan dengan ekstensi file yang berbeda. Baik itu file gambar, music, video, document, dan file-file lainnya.

7. Setelah semua file yang diinginkan tersimpan. Dan Double klik lagi pada file (.bat) tadi, lalu akan muncul tulisan are you sure want to lock the folder?(Y/N). Ketik �y� dan tekan enter untuk yes dan ketik �n� lalu tekan enter untuk no. Sekedar informasi tulisan are you sure want to lock the folder? yang ada pada script awal (default) bisa kita ubah sesuai keinginan kita. Seperti : apakah saudara yakin ingin mengunci folder ini? dan sebagainya.

8. Jika yang anda simpan adalah file penting, usahakan file yang anda simpan ini jangan sampai didelete oleh orang lain. Anda bisa mengantisipasinya dengan mengaktifkan fasilitas hidden file dan tidak menampakkan file-file yang ter-hidden sehingga orang lain tidak bisa menghapus file anda.

Tonight I was reading some of the Korean news top stories, and saw an article about another teenage girl assult, this time in Cheonan. What struck me most of all about the story wasnt the news itself, but the absolute barrage of ads when I clicked through to it.
