I got the iphone 6 on launch day, and a week later it still says "restoring from icloud backup". i have very fast 100 mbps internet at home and even faster at work. i don't want to go go back and do an itunes backup of the old phone and then restore to the new phone - i will lose a week of changes!. After your iphone restarts you’ll be asked if you want to set up the iphone as a new device (do this if you are selling it or giving it away) or if you want to restore it from a backup. if you want to set it up as a new device, you’re done, just follow the “set up as new iphone” steps on screen after the hello screen appears.. I purchased the new iphone 6. previous to moving content over i upgraded to ios 8 and backed up in icloud on my iphone 5s. i received my iphone on friday, 9/19, and over 12 days later i am still getting the message "restoring from icloud backup" on my home screen..
If you applied the ios 8.0.1 update and your iphone 6 or 6 plus is now a shiny new doorstop, here's the steps (and the downloads) to restore things to the way they were yesterday.. I had a 64 gb iphone 6+ backed up on my itunes on my computer. after i got my new 128 gb iphone 6s today, i used a cable and connected my new phone to itunes to restore from my old phone.. Restoring iphone software is taking forever!! help!.
